Final Draft Agenda: European Parliament Plenary Session (15-18 January 2018)

The agenda includes items related to energy & climate, environment, trade and transport policy.

Energy & Climate and Environment – On 15 January, agenda items include a joint debate on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, energy efficiency and on the governance of the energy union, followed by votes on the three files on 17 January. The agenda on 15 January also includes short presentations on the international ocean governance and on women, gender equality and climate justice, followed by votes on both reports on 16 January. On 17th January, the Commission will make a statement on the Plastics Strategy.

Trade – On 16 January, agenda items include setting up a Union regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering, technical assistance and transit of dual-use items and an oral question on trade and sustainable development chapters in EU trade agreements. The vote on dual-use items will take place on 17 January.

Transport – A debate and vote on implementation of the Professional Qualifications Directive and the need for reform in professional services is on the agenda on 18 January.

General – On 16 January, there will be Council and Commission statements on the review of the Estonian Presidency as well as on the conclusions of the European Council meeting of 14 and 15 December 2017. On 17 January, agenda items include Council and Commission statements on the presentation of the programme of activities of the Bulgarian Presidency and a debate with Prime Minister of Ireland Leo Eric Varadkar on the Future of Europe. On 17 January there will be a topical debate on Russia and the influence of propaganda on EU countries.
